Dentons celebrates 25 years in Ukraine

To mark the occasion of its 25th anniversary in Ukraine, global law firm Dentons held a gala charity event at the Art Ukraine Gallery in Kiev.  As part of the event, Dentons held a silent auction to benefit Tabletochki, an international charity that protects the interests of children with cancer in Ukraine.

The event also paid tribute to Ukrayinska Pravda’s“Core of the Nation” project, which honors individuals who have made a significant personal contribution to the development and promotion of Ukraine on the international arena. Several of the people honored by the project — including Nina Matviyenko, Mustafa Dzhemilev, Yosyf Zisels as well as relatives and representatives of Klim Churyumov, Lubomyr Husar and Bohdan Hawrylyshyn — were present at the event and received awards in recognition of their achievements. Ukrayinska Pravda is one of Ukraine’s most popular and influential online newspapers, widely known both domestically and abroad.

“Dentons is not only the largest law firm in the world, but as a polycentric firm, we care deeply for the communities in which we live and work,” said Oleg Batyuk, Ukraine Managing Partner at Dentons. “To thank the local business community for their ongoing trust in us, we are very proud to support the charitable activities of Tabletochki, and to join forces with Ukrayinska Pravdato celebrate our cultural heritage.”

Tomasz Dabrowski, CEO of Dentons Europe, commented, “Over the last 25 years, our colleagues in Kiev have not only advised on many of the most important transactions in the market, but they have also helped advance the legal, political, economic and cultural environment in this country.  We will continue to bring this pioneering and innovative spirit to benefit our clients and further reinvent the practice of law here in Ukraine and around the world.”

Dentons’ legacy firm Salans Hertzfeld & Heilbronn opened its first office in Kiev in 1992. Today, Dentons employs 30 lawyers, including eight partners in Kiev.

Dentons express deep gratitude to the event partners — Ukrayinska Pravdaand Tabletochki for their tremendous support, as well as to Ukrainian artist Darina Mo Mot for the donation of her painting for the charity lottery.
