EPAP Ukraine successfully defended interests of international pharmaceutical company

EPAP Ukraine defended interests of one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies in a dispute with the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine on extension of patent term for medical product for of additional 3 years over standard 20 years’ term.

As a result of EPAP Ukraine IP, Domestic Litigation and Pharmaceuticals Law teams’ work, the decision of the Patent office on refusal to grant patent term extension was cancelled by the court of first instance and later by the court of appeal. The Patent office has extended the patent term for another 3 years. EPAP Ukraine included counsels Taras Kyslyy and Viktoriya Podvorchanska, senior associate Vitaliy Kulinich, associate Olena Kozhokar and was led by managing partner Serhii Sviriba.
